THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

February 8, 2018

We are greater than our evaluations of ourselves. What beliefs are you holding on to that are limiting your evolving into who you were created to be?

THANK YOU!

July 31, 2017

I have been sitting here today reflecting on the last seven years. It has been a crazy and amazing journey. So many different people have come through our doors. Some have journeyed with us for years, some for a few months, and some just came and left. Each in their own left a mark on me and this ministry. To all of you who have been a part of our journey and evolution, thank you!

I remember when I first started talking to someone about this vision and she said just start it and they will come. What has fascinated me most the last seven years is the messages and emails from people around the world.  I was not expecting that my writing would resonate with people from just about every continent in the world. It has allowed me to build relationships with people from places such as the Czech Republic, Liberia, South Africa, Trinidad and Tobago, India, Jamaica, Russia, and Ireland. There is something about knowing that there is a language that resonates with people globally. There is a blessing in knowing that people can come together and feel the presence of the Ultimate. It is a different kind of unity then I have been thinking about all month.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

I am successful

I woke up in the middle of the night last night feeling unsuccessful. I know that is a lie, so I had to begin the work of figuring out why that thought resurfaces so that I could pull it up by its roots and eliminate it. I came to realize that it has nothing to do with anyone else, it is all about me, and how I have defined success. If one were to look at my resume or CV, one might perceive me as successful. I have won national and international awards for my scholarship; I have a bachelor’s degree, two master’s degrees, and a doctorate. I have a number of small businesses that I operate and teach part time at a local university. I have two furry feline sons, a wife of 12 years who loves me unconditionally, and a circle of friends who have journeyed with me through good times and bad.

A few weeks ago, a friend of mine bought home some Klondike bars for her husband, who is particular about his ice cream. He has one flavor that he enjoys – Vanilla. Klondike bars are vanilla, covered with chocolate; however, the ice cream itself is vanilla. This box, however, had orange colored vanilla ice cream in celebration of the Halloween season. It was the original Klondike bar, just with orange colored vanilla ice cream. After one bite into his Klondike bar, he remarked that there was something wrong. The ice cream may have tasted like vanilla, but it looked like orange. That was enough to change the whole experience. It was still, however, the original Klondike bar.
